Getting there and around

We will be married on an old golf course turned preserve two miles north of Frankfort, MI.Click here to view. Traverse City, MI is the closest real city and airport. It is about 45 minutes from the wedding spot.  Grand Rapids is about 2.5 hours away to the south, and has a larger airport that sometimes is less expensive to fly into. Detroit is about 5 hours away,
 but might be the economical option if you are planning on renting a car.

     From Minneapolis there are three routes. First is the northern route across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is beautiful and according to Google maps it takes 12 hours 30 minutes to drive. Directions here.
      Around Chicago is the next route, and is longer at 13 hours and not as beautiful. Directions here.
      The third option is to drive directly across Wisconsin and take the S.S. Badger Carferry across the lake. This is pricey, but beautiful and a lot of fun. See http://www.ssbadger.com/home.aspx for more information.

      Once you get there it will be nice to have a car but probably not essential. There are not many buses to the small town of Frankfort, but we may potentially be able to hook you up with other air travelers who have rides when you come in.
